the newest gamer
the newest gamer
Since I've noticed some of the other long-term posters announcing or indicating when they've become new parents, I thought some of you might be interested to know that I have joined your ranks! My wife and I just had our first child - a boy - yesterday morning! Everyone is healthy and happy and ready to get home!
Any idea where can I buy some cool retro-themed baby clothes and the like? How soon is too soon to put a controller in his hand?
Any other important advice for a new father (who is also a gamer)? We're taking all that we can get!
Re: the newest gamer
Many Congrats man.
I have no idea where you would get retro game themed clothes or toys but good luck in schooling the boy in our ways. I have 3 budding gamers myself, the eldest, charlotte (8) has her own gamecube and ds and loves to watch me play zelda. Poppy, who is 3 likes to play but she doesnt really understand how to yet and the youngest is but 20 months old and already understands that to play on the wii you stand on the balance board and wave your arms like a loon.

I said it before, I'll say it again. Congratulations chief!

CafePress has a few in this list, though you'll have to check to see which ones are offered for infants.

Congratulations
Re: the newest gamer
Congratulations! Several of the guys at work have started having their first kids as well, so I'm getting to see lots of baby pictures.
I'd recommend you get a joystick for the kid to try out, since they seem to have an easier time manipulating them vs. a d-pad.
Also, Ack, that bodysuit, "I play video games with my daddy" is the most adorable thing I've ever seen.
