I'm not a big anime guy, so I probably won't be attending AWA anyway. Oh well, I guess Atlanta people just don't appreciate old video games.fast wrote:Not really. We held a Summer Gaming Festival two weeks ago that you might have liked - which I completely forgot to mention on this site before it happened. I will inform you well ahead of time for the next one - itll probably be in January.
Dragoncon is your obvious choice. Shortly after it there is Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) and they are going to try a retrogaming part, but for some reason they have not contacted any of the big collections in town - namely a friend of mine, Ian Bogost, and myself (to my knowledge). Which is fine since one of the guys who runs the videogaming department is an asshole. I run boardgames at AWA, I was going to do 3d Warhammer Quest this year but the goldenboy of the department is running Descent and stole my thunder...Im not bitter.
Apart from those two we are fairly dry. Onyxcon is going into their first year, and GMX is in Nashville. Thats about it.
Thanks for the future heads up on the gaming festival, it definitely sounds like something I would enjoy.
Any plans for Dragoncon?
