He was not. We were planning on doing a Retrogaming convention later this Fall, which would have been more appropriate for him to be a guest at, but that has kinda fallen through thanks to the building be planned for demolition.

Bummer, I would have been behind a retrogaming convention 100%. Unfortunately, having the building falling in around you makes for a poor convention. Maybe next year, eh?

Speaking of which, are there any shows in Atlanta along a similar vein? I've only lived here for a couple years, so forgive my ignorance. Also, any plans to attend Dragoncon?

Not really. We held a Summer Gaming Festival two weeks ago that you might have liked - which I completely forgot to mention on this site before it happened. I will inform you well ahead of time for the next one - itll probably be in January.

Dragoncon is your obvious choice. Shortly after it there is Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) and they are going to try a retrogaming part, but for some reason they have not contacted any of the big collections in town - namely a friend of mine, Ian Bogost, and myself (to my knowledge). Which is fine since one of the guys who runs the videogaming department is an asshole. I run boardgames at AWA, I was going to do 3d Warhammer Quest this year but the goldenboy of the department is running Descent and stole my thunder...Im not bitter.

Apart from those two we are fairly dry. Onyxcon is going into their first year, and GMX is in Nashville. Thats about it.

Had trouble with my real job - they were going to axe the department. So it kinda slipped my mind. It was more of a boardgaming event anyway.
