What are the odds of getting a "jasper" X-Box 360 Pro Model?
I know mostly all Arcade units are Jaspers now, but how about the Pro? I will most likley be picking up a unit soon and trying to decide.

A 360 unit with a smaller and cooler running chipset tyat supposedly eliminates or prolongs the breakdowns from happening.

Working at a game store, don't believe the jasper hype. I see those mofos come back the day after purchase with rrod's ALL THE TIME. The 360, no matter what type you get, is still a ticking time bomb of disappointment.
I just wish everyone knew that but I also have a hard time telling people why they shouldn't buy used 360's also. Im starting to get the feeling some people are just born to lose money...

Yeah, That is the mai nreason I have yet to actually take the leap and buy one, as great as the library, I just can't get myslf to pull the trigger on something that may have the shelf life of a few months, instead of a few years (my first Gen PS2 is still running problem free 9+ years later)
I have a Wii and love that there is no "White Light of Despair" I have to worry about, I have three friends who own 360's of the three only one has had it RROD, but the remaing two say they worry about it RRODing every time they play...that is not something you should have in your head when you are doing something that is suppose to be casual enjoyment...LOL
Good, I think I accomplished talking myself out of a 360 again.

Congrats
I would wait until next year. Current rumors are that there MAY be a redesigned 360 coming out around the same time the Natal is released (possibly with natal hardware inside the 360 itself). I actually own two 360's and both have red-ringed three times each, to the point where, if I have the option, I buy all games that i can on the PS3 so I know that, years from now, I wont just have a stack of thousands of dollars worth of games with no system to play it on (because, as I like to remind my customers, about 2 years after the 360 has come and gone, Microsoft WILL stop repairing the mofos. Maybe three years in this case, do to the band-aid fix warranty).
Aside from a complete redesign occuring, the only other thing that will get me buying 360 games again will be if the next microsoft console is A) sturdy to the point where it DOESN'T have a 90% failure rate and B) has 100% backwards compatibility. If these things don't occur though, Ill be sitting pretty with my ps3 collection laughing at 360 owners who spent all their cash for years on games they wont be able to play in the future.

That's exactly why I play mine like there's no tomorrow. My original one broke, and after the fix by MS, they added new heatsinks, and I got the newest/quietest DVD drive. It plays great, and I have no worries about it.scottykick wrote:the remaing two say they worry about it RRODing every time they play...that is not something you should have in your head when you are doing something that is suppose to be casual enjoyment...LOL
