Help with 4-in-1 Action Replay for Saturn...

Post by Original_Name »

Alright, so it's my understanding that the older Action Replays for the Saturn can't run certain demanding 4MB games such as Vampire Savior and Street Fighter Zero 3. I believe I have one of the older ones since mine has this adapter at the top, which I believe was discontinued in favor of regular, adapterless carts. The strange thing is that Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystaria works flawlessly on my Saturn with the 4-in-1 Action Replay, which I had been lead to believe would only work with the newer Action Replays. When I put in copies of Vampire Savior, Street Fighter Zero 3, and Pocket Fighter, they get stuck on the Action Replay's loading screen. What gives? I've cleaned the inside of the cart. I would've just assumed I need a new Action Replay, except that D&D works on it. Is there something I'm missing, or have I been mislead about D&D's dependency on a 4MB Ram Cart? I'd rather not have to pay $30 for a new one if I don't have to.

Check the link and it has on option to mod your old cart for VS. But first try to take out your internal battery first and put it back in. It kind of does a reset of your system and that seemed to work when both my VS and Assult Suit Leynos 2 game didn't want to work. After that I had no problems.

Awesome, worked perfectly! I guess that clears out extra RAM or something? Will I have to do that periodically if I play a bunch of different 4MB games at any given time?

Glad I could help. Have only needed to do it with those two games and after I did so they worked fine ...
