Vanguard Princess, anyone playing it?
Vanguard Princess, anyone playing it?
Just curious what your impressions are. I've downloaded it, but haven't tried it out yet. Thankfully it is freeware and i don't have to be a little embarassed for picking it up in a public place like... uh.... arcana heart.
the first comment on it's reddit thread was this... "My favorite character is Panty-Panty Megaboobs, but I can never get her Hyperbreast Cannon to work against Mistress Hardnipple's Cleavage Smother finisher." Which... yeah.
Looks like a good fighter wrapped in a weirdly dirty anime skin.

I haven't downloaded it yet but I've heard it's great, also it's apparently made by an ex-capcom employee.

Wow, that's some pretty nice spritework.

Oh thats what this "vanpri" japanese fighter I have is, which I cant seem to fucking run. It just keeps saying the path does not exist. I'm running the exe directly in the folder it extracted.

Re: Vanguard Princess, anyone playing it?
I quite enjoy it.
The trend with Japanese fighters of late has been to all be dial-a-combo, Guilty Gear knockoffs. Whether it's Doujin (Melty Blood) or new (Arcana Heart, BlazBlue, etc) they all feel the same, and use the same burst/dust/etc button config.
This is different. There's no more automagic chaining of everything, and despite the look has a much more oldschool feel about it, where you have to work hard to get in damage and combos. It's not Super Turbo, but there's definitely a lot of positive about this game.
I hope this guy goes on to make commercial versions of this stuff. I'd gladly pay money for this sort fighting game, instead of the current common trend of fighters.

Re: Vanguard Princess, anyone playing it?
Some guy posted info for this on shoryuken. It's nice to hear it plays halfway decent. Too bad I don't have a PC. I'm going to see if I can hook up with a friend who can download it. Need to get a USB adapter for my HRAP2SA.
Re: Vanguard Princess, anyone playing it?
Ok played it some. Not sure how I feel about it. The tits and ass I couldn't care less about. As a fighting system, I'm not really feeling it. It seems kind of haphazardly thrown together with little balance. The sprites are all impressive though.
