Oh, I Envy You People In The USA....
So, it may not seem like a big deal but the PSP GO is being released in the USA one month before Japan. From what I gathered from comments from other gaming sites so far, the PSP GO doesn't seem to be too popular with gamers. I may be one of the only people who are anxiously waiting for this thing. I have a PSP-1000 which I bought on its release day in Japan, so it has Ver. 1.00 firmware (I never upgraded!), and I love it. I can run pretty much any homebrew game or emulator without much effort. The problem is I cannot play newer PSP games or games downloaded from PSN because it requires a newer firmware. Just when I was about to go buy a PSP-2000 (Don't like the 3000), I hear about the PSPGo and I have been waiting for it ever since. It will be released in Japan on November 1st, one month after the US release. During that month, I will be green with envy for you people in the U.S of A. Of course, I can have a friend of family member back home in California send me one, but I'll tough it out. Anyhoo, just wanted to get that off my chest!

Why do you want a PSPgo so bad?
You also realize you can upgrade your original firmware and still run all of the emulators and stuff, as well as the current releases. It isnt that hard to do, esp since you are running original firmware

I'll gladly pick one up if you want to do a trade for some cool Japanese stuff.
and yeah- you can totally upgrade your firmware, as long as it is still custom you shouldn't have a problem running the emulators or homebrew. You just need to make sure it is CFW.

I just think the PSP GO looks cool! Hehe. I know there are custom firmwares, but I am a total idiot when it comes to do those things. I have no idea how to do stuff like that...and I am kinda attached to having a PSP with V1.00 firmware. It's not a big deal in the gaming world, but it is still rare.

I think he means we got the Dreamcast version of Shenmue II with Japanese audio & English subtitles - the US certainly didn't get that one
