need input!

Post by videogameexperiment »

I'm putting together a website with an interesting idea behind it. I'm looking for outsider point of views on it however.

http://videogameexperiment.com

Keep in mind, the site is under MAJOR construction yet and there could be a few bugs in it yet so please don't go crazy with it.

What do you guys think? Is this a good idea? Is it plausible?

I like the concept...and appreciate your generosity. But, I honestly don't see it going far unfortunately. Sorry. I think you need to cover overhead a little (game damages, time, shipping materials, no returns, etc..) Or you will just be throwing your own bank at it and it will get old quick.

Yeah that's my only worry. I don't make profit on rentals however all game purchases would go towards overhead. I also plan to sell duplicates or extremely profitable titles externally through ebay and such.

Well how about on the user side of things....Are the games cheap enough to buy or rent?

Ok what I am asking is why you don't think it will. What would be your concerns? What would be keeping you from joining?

I'd honestly only donate if I had an extra copy of something in my collection.

I guess two of my main concerns would be "What happens if my game never arrives?" How is taken care of.

Also, say people donate stuff and suddenly the costs to run the thing end up going out of control, what happens to the donated items, are they returned? Or does the site owners keep the stuff?
