Re: Game Boy not so Advanced
It's a good review, but it doesn't look like it alters the shape of the GBA SP enough to make a serious difference for me. I'd have to try it to be sure, naturally, though. How hard are those to find these days, now that the GBA is no longer a hot item?Mozgus wrote:http://www.racketboy.com/retro/2007/06/ ... -life.htmlmarurun wrote:My primary gripes with the GBA are how uncomfortable the SP is to hold for long periods of time

Re: Game Boy not so Advanced
I guess I was the only who felt this way. It seams I just like very specific games, and after a year full of them, the gba didn't deliver, worthy sequels.
And I did enjoy the SNES games, but still that doesn't make them new

I still suggest trying Sabrewulf even if you dont like platformers:
Just dont listen to the guy - it is the only real gameplay clip I could find in a quick search

I have been playing Golden Sun for awhile and if it wasn't for the poorly lit GBA screen I would be hard pressed to put it down! It is a really awesome game! I have been waiting to get a DS Lite but cash has been tight. Hopefully soon.

4+ extra gamemodes, including one as metaknight, and an arena where you can play as any helper. It's an improvement in every sense of the word otherwise. get it. go get it.Mr.White555 wrote:I would if I could but I lended my ds and havent seen it since...AwesomeMonstar wrote:get superstar ultra for the DS NOW.Mr.White555 wrote: Kirby nightmare in dreamland was also great if not the greatest kirby game( Orginally it was kirbys adventure which was also fantastic but this version is better). For most of the homebrew games, just snoop around http://www.gbadev.org http://www.pdroms.com or http://www.gameboy-advance-roms.com
My collection is way out of date, as the GBA development scene is still producing great games, and I haven't really looked through the new stuff since 2005. These are the ones I've had on my flashcart for years and still play occasionally.

Re: Game Boy not so Advanced
I loved the GBA, bought it for Link to the Past even though I had it on SNES.
It was nintendo's last good handheld.
And the jump from SNES-level to PS2-level with the PSP was fricken amazing.

Glad to see ZoE:Fist of Mars getting a shout out in this thread. Great game - far too easy, but the interactive combat system ensures it's always satisfying to win.
The GBA Klonoa games are also excellent and underrated, but very hard to track down. I prefer the puzzle style of the portable Klonoa titles (starting with Midnight Museum on the Wonderswan) superior to the platformer style of their 2.5D tv console cousins.
I intend to pick up a second hand GBA SP and a USB mass-storage style flashcart in the near future. I had to give up the Nintendo DS, as it was destroying my eyes - the SP has the same size screen, but at a lower resolution, so it doesn't cause me any problems.
I'm not going near the GB Micro and its postage-stamp screen. A truly wonderous bit of technology, evolved beyond the point of actually being usable.
