Re: Dude.
I would believe that, if it wasn't for all the rich people dieing from the cursed thing. You think they wouldn't pay 5 bil euro to live?

Is it disturbing that the major reason I hope we cure cancer is so that the fucking hypochondriacs have one less thing to be paranoid about? I had a couple of these nutballs in my family, and could never even communicate with them, because no matter what the subject was, it would become "Oh poor pitiful me, I'm always so sick. Life is so hard. Why are you so healthy?! You have it so easy." They were always convinced they were dying.
Re: Dude.
Honestly, what happens when stem cell research becomes so advanced that we can cure everything? Who will make money then? Not to mention the overpopulation issue. I'm not much into conspiracy theories but too many rich people with too much influence stand to lose A LOT on cures like this.
Re: Dude.
This is pretty incredible. I've always wanted to see the day when we make such amazing advancements like this.

If this works, maybe we can get a few more seasons of Breaking Bad.

Re: Dude.
Anyone remember that episode of House where some company is about to launch a medicine to cure migraines, but what it actually does is give you a constant dry orgasm for a few hours to distract you from the headache? That's exactly what the big companies are gonna do if they get the cure for cancer, after all it's no good to them unless they get repeat business.

I'd rather have that than the religious fanatics in my family!Mozgus wrote:Is it disturbing that the major reason I hope we cure cancer is so that the fucking hypochondriacs have one less thing to be paranoid about? Re: Dude.
Cancer is freakin' scary and something to think about for family and future. "I better make sure I've got great healthcare, I could end up with frickin' cancer!" I may have a predisposition for a certain type, considering what runs in my family. I was sure they'd come up with something to isolate the cancerous cells at some point instead of just blasting it all and hoping the bad cells stay away...
