Best arcade stick solution for original xbox

Post by miked »

From what I can tell not too many were made. I have found the Fighting Stick EX by Hori and the Nubytech 15th anniversary SF stick. Should I just get a PS2 stick and controller adapter?

The HORI one is good and the Nubytech stick is one of the most legendary arcade sticks ever made using all genuine HAPP parts identical to what originally came in Street Fighter II CPS II cabs, and is the one of the greatest sticks other than the SFIV one that I've personally ever used.

When you said HAPP I was excited, but now that I look at the prices on ebay, not so much. Will a modded xbox detect any usb controller? If so I might order the cheap Mayflash stick on playasia and replace the parts.

Had the same problem and found a great solution that fits oXbox, PS, and Gamecube.

Pelican Universal Real Arcade Stick ...

Replaced with Hori Light up buttons and new stick. Paid $78 including everything ...
There is a exclusive PS2, oXbox, and Gamecube version but wait for the Universal. I have the exclusive oXbox version too ... you can occasionally find them on Ebay for $50.

The prices are a definitely better on Amazon:

You really do get every penny's worth with the stick, as it has the HAPP buttons and stick, solid wood construction and beautiful artwork by Udon that's protected by a plexiglass overlay. Plus it's intercompatible with PS1/PS2/PS3 & PC (with a USB adaptor) and the original Xbox.

Well those prices are alot better. I guess I could pay off the Tekken6/wireless Hori bundle at GS next check......

A little off topic here, but I am the only one out of all my friends that like HAPP stuff better than Sanwa. I don't dislike Sanwa by any means, but HAPP is what I grew up on and what feels better to me.

I enjoy both companies buttons, but prefer HAPP's for recreation and Sanwa's for tournaments and practice.

I'm a big fan of the X-arcade stick I bought:

It has served me well for many hours of playing Dead or Alive on the Xbox.
