GSZX1337 – I would. The Xbox was the first console where good PC ports were prevalent. And while that would not be a defining statement, many of the games, namely Morrowind, were highly regarded by the gaming population and boosted the fanbase of the series tremendously. There are some ports that were not very good, Curse and Broken Sword come to mind, but those that worked out had a huge effect on the console. However I feel that instead of stating them individually, a lump entry for them highlighting a few of the bigger ones would be appropriate.

I believe Riddick was on the hidden gems list, so while it was one of the defining titles for me, we will have to drop it. Its kinda hard for a title to be defining and a hidden gem…

But between you and me, I bought the pc versions of everything over the xbox ones. Until developers learn that they are not supporting those of us who play with legacy controls they dont get my money.

^Yes, I agree that citing "PC-ports" as a whole is the way to go.

Am I the only person here who has played Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath? I thought that would be one for sure, especially since it was an Xbox exclusive and a damn fine game all around.

I don't know if I can point to any one game, maybe Madden, but more that the Xbox became the console for sports gamers. Much like the Genesis was and now the Xbox 360 is. I know there aren't many sports gamers on here, but it is a huge number of gamers and the Xbox with its hard drive and xbox live was just better suited for sports gaming. Also, the 2k sports series came over from the Dreamcast to the Xbox and NFL 2k5, the last in the series before EA bought the exclusive rights to the NFL for Madden still has a large following with people updating the rosters each year and still playing in leagues online.

So how about putting entries in for the 2k5 line and the Madden series?

Yeah, a lot of this stuff seems like Hidden Gems. I will mention a few games of note. I'll leave it to everyone else whether or not they are "defining". I just know that they are good to great games and exclusive to the Xbox

Kingdom Under Fire:The Crusaders.
Stubbs the Zombie
Oddworld:Munch's Odyssey
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Splinter Cell
Hunter the Reckoning
Armed and Dangerous
Crimson Skies

^Splinter cell and Crimson Skies are both PC ports. Crimson Skies was enhanced though.
