GC games run better on Wii?

Post by Erik_Twice »

For example I heard that Geist was a cool game but was choppy. Would it run better on the Wii?

The only thing the Wii does is run the game in 480p instead of 480i. As far as I know, and have experienced games run the same.

I don't think it does as it has the Gamecube's hardware.

The only difference I have noticed so far is that PSO Episode I&II doesnt run as poorly in four player splitscreen as it does on the cube.

The only problem I've heard is my friend having trouble playing Metroid Prime. I was able to play my copy just fine on a Wii. Probably not a problem with the Wii.

Don't use third party controllers. It will really fuck up your Wii.
Systems: SNES, PS1, GBA SP, Gamecube, DS Lite, Wii, PS3 (Fully Backwards Compatible), Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, a Sega CD, and a Sega Saturn.

Yeah I'm not sure whether it was the third party PSU i used or the potentially 3rd party controller (it looks legit but I'm not sure I trust the shop I got it from) either way my wii was totaled it all started with a thunderstorm that took out the PSU. Nintendo sent me a replacement though with 1 year warranty (mine was off warranty) just hoping my data is still there...

Newt Ive been using third party controllers on my Wii for a year and a half now with no problem. Those white "compatable" ones that show up on ebay from time to time. Why would they screw up your console at all?

I like playing my GC games on Wii for simple fact that I can run 480p supported titles via component since I didn't have component cables for my GC and were pretty expensive and hard to get... 8)

If you have a TV that supports 480p and have your Wii hooked up with component cables it does. When you insert a GC game and start the game off the Wii menu it says "Would you like to run this game in progressive mode?"
