I Finally Defeated Blaster Master

Post by Luke »

And damn does it feel good.
Took around 6 hours, no cheats (not even the grenade pause trick), no codes, and I only died once (however I did use my NES advantage for rapid fire).
I've been meaning to do this since I first got the game, so my neighbors probably heard my celebration right around Midnight last night.
The only thing that bummed me out was how easy the final boss is. But to be honest, after putting all those hours in the game, I was ready to finish it.

congrads dude! I can't believe you did it on original hardware! no save states or anything.

Blaster Master was the first game i got for the nes when i started to re-buy my collection. A fantastic game, but i never beat it. You've inspired me to pop it in and play it again.

Now you are ready to move onto the sequels.... Blaster master 2 on the genesis, Blaster Master: Enemy Below on the gameboy color, and Blaster Master: Blasting Again on the ps1. Maybe even pick up the book by A.L. Singer? according to wikipedia it is considered blaster master cannon.

on second thought... don't do any of that. Blaster Master cannon? wtf.

Congrats man, that is a solid accomplishment.

I'm too old for that kind of gaming marathon. Save states are my bread and butter these days.

Sadly I've never played this game. I'm definitely going to pick up a copy sometime.

Thanks man. Playing games on anything other than the original hardware just doesn't sit well with me. Half the nostalgia factor for me is the hardware, and playing with the original controllers. But yeah, the game is a long haul.

Definitely play it again, it's a top 10 NES game for sure.

I think my next goal will be to beat the Ninja Gaiden trilogy. I can beat the first Ninja Gaiden in 30 minutes flat, but never really got into the other two on the NES.

The ending must be awesome, right? The game's got one of the most engrossing and well-constructed storylines ever created.
