Re: What RPG are you playing right now?
Finished Persona 3 last thurday night.
I opened up my copy of 4 and looked at the book, I've yet to play it, but I'll probably start it up after my next big RPG.
Started up Nocturne again, I was only 5 hours in. Everytime I play it I get a little more into it and this whole scenario. I want to find and play the first two Shin Megami's, as well as the regular Megami Tensei games. Anyone want to point me in the right direction? Which version is better, super nintendo or playstation? I'm thinking super nintendo, because of the turbo speed I can play at, but playstation might look better? I don't know. What do those of you who followed what I just said think?

I don't think the original SMT games have been translated aside from the SNES version, so that pretty much narrows your options. And as far as I know, the original Megami Tensei games haven't been translated. I'd also be cautious about those. NES-era dungeon crawlers are notorious for being insanely difficult.

Mass Effect rocks and I plan on getting back to it sometime soon to finish all the achievements and use the unlockables to finally make my perfect character that I can carry over in Mass Effect 2.
I have been thinking about giving Fallout 3 a shot as it looks interesting, but I never really got sucked into Oblivion, so I don't know if Fallout 3 would be to my liking.

Let's be fair. Paper Mario is also awesome. Then again, there were only a handful of RPGs released on the system anyway, so when you look at strict percentages I think the N64 ends up with the best RPG lineup ever.

What a curious point of view

Are you including Zelda in your count? Two Zeldas, Paper Mario, Ogre Battle, and some other titles, perhaps a great total of ten o twenty that represent about the 10% of the line up of N64. I'm not sure, but I believe that PS1/PS2 has a bigger rate of RPG. I will investigate some more about this...

I'm not sure if I completely agree that it's the only good one, but even if it is, Ogre Battle 64 is one hell of a game.

I'm playing a few at the same time. Before my kids go to bed but not every night, we'll play a little Paper Mario 64 together. Have collected 5 Star Spirits so far.
Continuing to play Legend of Zelda (NES) but with my "new" NES Advantage joystick. Seems to work pretty well but my B button occasionally sticks. Will have to open up the joystick and clean it out.

Nope, just a Nintendo fanboy since the NES days. And I generally don't include Zeldas as RPGs. What I meant by the percentages was that if you look at the number of good RPGs vs. released RPGs on the system the N64 has the highest ratio of awesome to crap.
