I wake up today to find a bunch of facebook notices in my email. 3 of them were PMs saying "Do I know you?". I dont use facebook. I don't have an account there. Well apparently I do now. Except that only the email address belongs to me. All the other info is from a friend I used to work with. Is anyone really dense enough to make an account somewhere and use a friend's email address instead of their own?
I tried deleting the account but theres no such feature. Only deactivating, which I'm not sure if that would keep him from creating a new one with the same info or not. Now I have to hope he has enough sense to know how to accept the email and password change confirmations and remove my additional email from the account.
How is someone this stupid?

I'm sure if you email Facebook they can delete the account for you. I'm pretty sure it's against Facebook's ToS to create an account for somebody else without their permission.

The man speaks the truth. A friend of mine almost got in trouble for doing the same thing.Niode wrote:I'm sure if you email Facebook they can delete the account for you. I'm pretty sure it's against Facebook's ToS to create an account for somebody else without their permission.

Well I'll do that if my friend doesnt make the changes I asked.

Some one made a MySpace account using my email once. I got the confirmation email for the account, the password was "buttfuckme". Luckily I was able to just log in a delete it.
Re: How is someone this stupid?
About a week ago I found facebook and Flixster pages that were signed up using my real first and last name. Turns out it is actually someone who has the exact same name as me and lives across the country. I've also found at least 12 other accounts on various mainstream sites using my nickname. Luckily they are all legitimate - if unoriginal - accounts and I would never sign up to any of those sites myself. So far no conflicts or misunderstandings came of it.

My belief in how stupid people really are waivers sometimes, but days like today just reaffirms how low it should be. The brass have decided my team is inefficient and must be restructured, which would all be well and good if they had hands on with our work. The fact is that they are on the other side of town.

Oh my god. Now I have a twitter account with all his details. What the fuck. Did he go on a crime spree of impersonating me on these sites or what?
