At lunch time, I checked out a store near my workplace that is now selling retro stuff. I was pretty impressed with the quantity/quality of stuff at a fair price. I picked up an NES Advantage controller for $15 in very good condition.
What do people think of the controller? Would you use it for all NES games or just the fighting games?

I use mine for everything except games I am too use to using the original controller for (ie Mario 2). I have found it best for puzzle games and shooters.

Everyone loves the Advantage. It's great for everything except platformers.

Re: What do people think of the NES Advantage controller
I was never a big fan of it. Its cool looking, but I always preferred to play with the original controller.

Man I loved the Advantage. I remember having trouble with SMB 2, until I figured out that if you turn the "turbo" to about 30% for the bonus game you can get extra guys with every coin.

I use to have one, I remember playing Zelda with it. It'd be really fun to use for Tetris. Of course, I don't have one any more : (

Re: What do people think of the NES Advantage controller
Well built, and worth $15 for collectors. I don't use it all though. The stick doesn't click, therefore I find it almost useless as a real controller. Even simple arcade games like Donkey Kong don't work that well for me. I haven't tried it with any brawlers, though.
Re: What do people think of the NES Advantage controller
i wanted one when they first came out but didn't get one until years later. i find myself never using it now but this is probably because i've come so accustomed to joypads for most nes games.

I have used one but rarely. It definitely looks cool and need to get one. I'm glad they are cheap for collectors...
