Good Deal?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Well it turns out bidding has ended for the one I was going to grab. . . I'll have to keep searching I guess.

I would wait for the right one. I think I got my Model 2 Genny and 32X missing one cable (had them anyway) for $20 shipped.

Keep your eyes peeled, I see Model 2 Genesis' go for $5 or so around here all the time.

Well I'm searching ebay, and I doubt I'll find one for as cheap as $5 there. There's a flea market up the street from where I live but I think he sells them for $30 with a game.

I just perused several listings on Craigslist and apparently the Genesis market is flourishing. Cheapest one I saw was $20 and it looked like it was kicked 8 miles down a gravel road.

I still think with time you'll score a nice cheap one, just wait for the market to come back a bit.

Problem is I'm one of those people who doesn't like to wait long when I want a game/system and I sometimes end up spending extra money hehe.

Why is it that there are never the damn cables when you buy the Genesis?

I bought a Genesis 1, but then I also had to buy the guy's SMS to get the cords for both, which ended up costing 20 or so odd dollars.

I suppose it was a decent deal, but it always pisses me off when people try to con you for a few more dollars.

I've noticed that too, nearly every Genesis I see on Craigslist is missing the AV or power cable (or both usually). I have seen no other system, other than the Dreamcast, with missing cables so often. Even the DC my wife bought me from Vintage Stock "complete" had some random blender power cable or something in it (it was curly, but at least it worked).
