Actually it seems like all media is taking this same route. Just go to a book store and you see shelves full of Harry Potter and Twilight. Pop music is full of bullshit autotune wankery. Just find someone you think the majority of people will find attractive and you can make their voice sound good. Maybe shit has always been like this but I really just came to notice it at the beginning of this decade. Everything is souless.
Edit: Actually... sorry for the off topic crazy talk OP. I should have made a thread of its own for that comment.

Re: Transformer Midnight Showing.....
I initially hated the first film because it crapped all over my childhood memories of Transformers and was a steaming pile of dog shit (with cool effects).
HOWEVER, once I was able to finally disassociate it from any previous/past memories of Transformers, I can now half-heartedly enjoy it on its own merits as a fun, brainless popcorn-flick. It's no worse than something like Independence Day or many other (though not all) summer action films. In fact, I'd argue that it's better than most of Michael Bay's other films (which is really sad, in a way).
So, I'll plan to see the new one, too - these kind of movies/effects shine on the big screen.

Re: Transformer Midnight Showing.....
I saw this film the other day and it was honestly one of the worst films I've ever paid to see. The last time I can remember failing to enjoy a film that badly was when I went to see Peter Jackson's King Kong.
It was the most boring, dull, clichéd, unfunny, cheesy piece of turd I hope I ever have the misfortune to watch.
I needed to pee halfway through, which I normally try to avoid, but this time I didn't want to go back in!
It would go from dramatic action scenes of robots kicking shit out of each other to a Road Trip type college campus complete with stupid humour.
This film just made me rage the whole way through - one bit in particular was when Shia LeBoeuf was cheating on his girlfriend and the scene cut back to her working on her bike with some completely gay music going on, so you would think "oh how can he cheat on her?
". Man I hate this film.
I implore everyone considering it, not to see this film!
But that's just my opinion. I hope others can get more out of Transformers 2.

They're doing it at my theater, but I don't have enough money so I'm gonna wait. Also, I work the next day at 10am, but I have to leave by about 9:30 to get there early. And I usually don't get outta bed until about 8:30am.

King Kong was awesome and the first transformers was alright. I think this one will be a lot better.

I think alot of us have forgotten how to honestly just have fun at the movies. I think we tend to over analyze things about it, yeah we grew up with it and have certain memories involving it, but for goodness sakes. ITS GIANT ROBOTS BEATING THE EVER LIVING CRAP OUT OF EACH OTHER! How serious can one actually take the movie.
BTW I had to pee during King Kong also LOL

I don't really know what you guys were expecting. I mean, it IS Michael Bay.
