Oh man, am I ever hooked. This is the most fun I've had playing a game in years! So now I'm desperate to try out the DC version. My question is, what's the best way for me to hook up my DC to my projector - S-Video or composite cable?
S-video will be sharper than composite
Thanks again
Hey, I have a weird problem with my EB VGA box that I bought off ebay. I do get perfect picture and sound HOWEVER my tv constantly displays "check signal cable" as if it had no signal whatsoever. Therefore I have no idea whats wrong with it. Does anybody have an idea on how I can fix this?
Is it that you have a picture on the screen but the TV still displays Check Signal Cable? I also have a Samsung, and I've discovered that it plays a little weird with the VGA input. I have to turn on the DC first, then switch to VGA mode and it will pick up things fine. Then when I want to switch to something else I need to first switch the TV to a different input, then turn off the DC. If I don't I'll be stuck on the VGA mode until I turn back on the DC.

Yeah I have a picture but it constantly displays "Check Signal Cable". But it seems to be the VGA cable at fault, I tried another VGA cable laying around the house and that one works fine. Maybe it is just the cable, its very odd. The cable works fine on other displays though. I think this is unsolveable.
Is it possible to get sound using a vga to rca cable? I just got a vga to rca cable so i could hook up my gamecube to my old computer moniter. my moniter does not have built in speakers. how do i get sound for cheap or preferably free? PLEASE HELP ME!

The VGA cable sends video signal only, not audio. When using and VGA cable or VGAbox on a Dreamcast, you also need an audio cable, either to the TV or speakers / PC audio card / whatever.
Hello good folks,
I'm having a heck of a time with my NTSC Dreamcast and VGA boxes.
Initially I bought one off eBay, it didn't work on any of the 5 LCD's or 1 CRT I tried it on. I always got "Sync out of range" messages. I managed to find one by "Performance" at a local shop for $30 USD. We tested it there on his monitor and it worked great. GREAT! I'm thinking my troubles are over.
I go home and hook it up to my TV. Nope, "Mode not supported". Even though the owners manual for my LG LCD (47" TV) says it supports 640x480@60Hz. I then hook the vga box to a 17" LCD Monitor I have, and low and behold! It works. The monitor says it's running 640x480 @ 60Hz just as my TV supports.
I then hook my Macbook up to my TV and set it for 640x480. Bingo, it works, but I think this is an interlaced picture (not progressive)?
What's going on? I don't know where to go as far as diagnosing why it doesn't work on my TV. I've even got the TV set at 4:3 rather than 16:9. No such luck.
I'm at my wits end and have come to the pros for help.
I also have my Sony Bravia w4100 Series HDTV connected to a VGA DC box, problem is the picture is so chopped it's like playing on a DSi >.<' and this is on Normal mode.
I have two other options which are Full and Full2 when I select Full the picture is streched and have black bars.. and it looks like a composite setup = ( and Full2 hides the black bars but you can forget about it.. it just looks so bad.. any help will be appreciated.
I know about the 1:1.. Full Pixal mode but when I'm in PC mode it's not supported.
Wow, that's kind of hilarious. It's doing a 1:1 pixel match and putting the 600x480 screen in the middle of your large 720/1080 screen. Are you sure there aren't any options in your PC mode for fit or something like that?

Well I'm able to set it to full mode under wide options but I take a quality hit http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a165/ ... /ok011.jpg and that's pretty much all I can do under PC mode there's some options that's grey'd out >.<'
Hard to tell in that picture but I prefer the smaller box.. it just appears to be so crisp overall.
