Your thread makes no mention of, or links to Something Awful, so as far as I'm concerned, its not a dupe. The watermark is there for a reason.

Gotta love the Symphony of The Night box art. Better than the English boxart, but the Japanese art was beautiful.

That really is fantastic! It's a shame the video game market isn't really designed for such modern cover-designs as paperback editions of timeless novels have enjoyed. Many of those are meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but alot of them could be perfectly serviceable covers if game marketing fell under a less IN-YO'-FACE!! pedigree of advertising. Video games pretty much HAVE to shove as many things on their cover as possible these days so as to give hints as to what the game is about, since I think video game publishers generally fear that consumers still think that "a video game is a video game is a video game" and thus must find some profound, nuanced way to appeal to their consumers via their cover art. Then again, I find that many overly-descriptive pieces of cover art can be my favorites, such as the Super Mario Land series and the Sonic games on the Game Gear. I don't know, sometimes they take a gamble, like with Sonic & Knuckles, but it's generally very descriptive imagery.

All told, the Shenmue cover made me laugh.
