Like any gaming system it depends what kind of games you like. Also you should take in consideration your Japanese-langague skills for certain games. For myself I am more interested in games which never reached US shores such as J-RPGs, Anime Based, some Fighting Games, etc.
There are plenty of fighting games (KOF, Toshinden, anything by Capcom really) you can pick up without any knowledge of Japanese whatsoever as quite a few are practically 100% in English.
At the moment I'm playing through Neon Genesis: Evangelion which is an Anime based type of RPG. Good so far, but can get difficult without much knowledge of Japanese, even using a walkthrough. I'm hoping to try out the Samurai Spirits RPG in the near future as I've always been a fan of those fighting games (not sure if those were released in the US on the Saturn, if not check them out).

Big question. The Saturn JAP library absolutely dwarfs the US library when it comes to good games. They got everything we did and more. For bervity's sake I am not going to list Saturn games with a US Saturn release. I'm gonna list only my favorite shmups since the subject of Saturn shmups is well covered on this site
Some obvious ones:
Street Fighter Zero (alpha) 3
X-Men VS Streetfighter
Vampire Savior
Dead or Alive
Shining Force 3 scenarios 2 & 3 +premium disc (the PD is available translated!)
Dragon Force 2
Grandia
Radiant Silvergun
Thunderforce V
Metal Slug
Castlevania/Dracula X Symphony of the Night
Some less obvious, but no less worthy games:
Soukyugurentai
Battle Garegga
Assault Suits Leynos 2
Fire Pro Wrestling: 6 Men Scramble
Silhouette Mirage
These are all Grade A titles, IMO, and if you don't like them it probably says more about your taste than the quality of the games. Obviously the RPGs have a language barrier, but the rest should be extremely playable. I think all of these are either exclusive to, or superior (in some way at least)on the Saturn. Castlevania is graphically superior on the PSX, but does have more features on the Saturn.
There are tons more games to try out on the Saturn that may not be quite Grade A, but are neat just the same.
Tryrush Deppy
Keio Yugekitai
(a million 2D shmups and fighters)
Bulk Slash
Elevator Action Returns
I could keep going but I have an early Valentine's lunch with the gf, and I'd never list them all anyway.
I hope this helps.

If you ever want to try to complete a Japanese RPG this is the game you should do it with. First off the graphics are amazing and unique and the gameplay is unique as well. Also it's not that difficult and you can usually figure out what to do. It's the only Japanese RPG I've not given up on in disgust at language barrier.nightwalker wrote:Thx for the help!!![]()
