Is a 3DO worth buying?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

yeah, pick it up. 45 is a good deal. download some games and enjoy some pseudo 32-bit goodness.

I think it's absolute crap. It doesn't have any exclusives and there are better ports out there.

the jaguar has a couple of good game's but not better than the 3do. come on you can't compare the jaguar to the 3do. the 3do 's got game like crash n' burn, road rash, need for speed,ss2t,gex,escape from monster manor, star control 2 and some more but i can't remember. the atari jaguar has what? avp, doom, wolfenstein 3d,nba jam T.E umm can't think of another good one i think that's it, sure it's got more value that's the plus but not enough good games. :? just get it and add it to your collection. :D

They have quite a few games that were ported to both systems, but the jaguar has one of the weirdest controllers I have ever seen. I have to say that if you did get this system, it would be one of those that you wouldn't ever want to get rid of. Some of the games have full video commercials advertising the 3d0. Its a timeless classic, somewhat of the underdog of that generation. They expected great things from it, but the price was just to high back then. If you compare the $45 you are looking at spending to the price that it was when it first hit the shelves, its a HELL of alot cheaper, lol.

the 3do has plenty of exclusives, only a few of them are worth checking out, but it's a solid system. plus no copy protection makes it easy to try to find good games that you'd like. i back the 3do. lucienne's quest ftw!

I have both, and would get a 3DO over a Jaguar anyday.... but not at the same price. Jaguars cost a bit more and are harder to find, at least around here.
