So I walk into my local game store and...

Post by isaacsquared »

They usually have a relatively mid to low-quality, higher than eBay priced selection. I walk over to the case where they keep some of the better games, and almost had a heart attack. They had:

Super Bomberman, boxed.
Super Mario World 2, boxed
Illusion of Gaia
Breath of Fire II
Secret of Mana w/guide
Chrono Trigger w/manual

What almost did me in:
Starfox Super Weekend competition cart

priced at $180, which is relatively reasonable, as far as those carts go. I guess somebody decided they'd like to give away a Super Nintendo collection. Dang.

No, I didn't. I'm kind of a functional collector... I'm not going to get it if I'm not going to play it, and the competition carts just aren't $200 worth of fun... I'd rather just buy a regular Starfox cart for $5. It was priced cheaper than what I'd pay on eBay, but not so much lower that I'd really make any money if I resold it. If it was $129 instead of $179, I would have gone out to my car and grabbed my checkbook that second. Anyway, it's still available if anyone's interested and is in the KC area(or wants to make a little road trip). I'd be happy to post the store's contact info if anyone wants.

I wish I could make finds like this at the thrift stores rather than the game stores.

You should buy it anyway, you could sell it at a much higher price if you're not going to play them.

wow nice find! my loca place has never had anything worth more than 100 bucks that wasn't hardware and they've never had a very good selection outside of NES and PS2 and it will only get worse as they don't want to buy or trade involving old stuff anymore and all the new shops opening up basically only carry new stuff also
