That's nuts! Reminds me of when I lived in Southern NJ and the KKK would still hold an annual march through the streets of the city. There has always been a very big obsession in that area with the Confederacy of the Civil War and many stupidly believed that Southern NJ was actually a part of the Confederacy as extending the Mason-Dixon line from where it ended in PA would technically put us below it. Unfortunately these idiots don't realize that if the line was to be extended it would have gone below NJ, Delaware, Maryland, and - obviously - Washington, DC. People like clinging to the ignorant, nationalist (not patriotic), ideologies of old for some reason. Even if they have been defeated.

It was close enough. If you hadn't said anything about you being German I wouldn't have even thought about it.Zeitgeist wrote:PS: Oh, and pardon me if my English should be odd.
I get tired of all the nutjobs out there. It's the crazies who get into power that end up causing all the problems.

I should note that Japan actually has a pretty big army. It may be self-defense forces, but it's still pretty large. It has to be, otherwise how can the US sell military equipment to them? Besides, it takes a LOT of tanks to keep Hokkaido and the norther islands safe from Russia. According to Wikipedia, at least, they have the 21st largest military force in the world. That's not huge, but it's nothing to sneeze at.
