Army: Use you for as long as they need you, then destroy you

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Whats even colder:

DrunkAus
7:47 PM I'm still finding it hard to believe that they didn't prepare for the massive influx of users, releasing a free game is one thing but advertising it and releasing it on Steam with Steamworks integration is a whole different beast as everyone even slightly interested in FPS's are at least gonna try it. On that note, I wonder if the auth servers are up yet? I wanna play :(

Great comment, its just like when someone is killed in a car crash...but someone is in traffic late for work and goes..."This is JUST what I need"....god forbid that same person goes wow....good thing I am still alive.

Sad to know people get the axe the day after...horrible.
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

Ouch. Just one more reason I have to move to England as soon as possible.

That's a bummer for those guys. It's sucks to work hard on something and then be cast aside. It looks like there's a fair amount of patching still needed to make this game playable, so that kind of renders this game a negative for its intended recruitment and propoganda purposes. People will just be annoyed. I know thinking that Uncle Sam will just use me up and leave me high and dry afterwards doesn't make me want to run to sign any recruitment forms... not that I have any inclination to do that anyway.

Nevertheless, the whole idea of releasing a first person shooter to gain interest in joining the armed forces is a strange concept to me. A lot of gamers are not really soldier material. Let's face it, a lot of were more likely to be voted last on the highschool basketball team rather than make it through basic training. Not to mention the fact that there are a million and one military FPS games out there already, I'm not sure what this adds, other than it asks for you personal information to create an account to be able to play the game (presumably for recruitment or at least research purposes). If they are going to create a military game they would be better off creating Wii Bootcamp Fit and get people into shape before they recruit them.
