I'm assuming you never heard back from gamereproductions.com? I'd try again or with another possible supplier of labels, as certain adhesives (duct tape mixed with the sticker adhesive etc...) can be corrosive towards each other, the paper labels and the plastic itself.

Also not to nitpick, but I happened to notice that you forgot to put a fake product code under the Nintendo seal on your label as well.

Yeah, gamerepro never got back to me. Do you know of any other websites that you can order labels from? Also, I didn't forget the product code, I just haven't added it yet. That label is just a prototype.

No, but I think it's suppose to be like that. There's only the one patch for it, I don't think there's any others.

Sadly I don't know where else to get labels from. Maybe a kinkos would be willing to print some up?

Some one on the interweb said to take them to get developed on photopaper. I guess it's not the worst idea, but I don't see that looking as good as a real SNES label, do you? I might pick up some sticker paper and than try to laminate or tape it, this way I wouldn't have to mess around with glue (the glue would probably soak into the computer paper).

I honestly wouldn't know where else to look, but I say keep trying gamereproductions.com while looking in to a possible alternative in case he eventually never replies.

lol, that's pretty much what I'm doing. I was in a crafts store today to pick up a few things. I got the idea to check out some laminates or something, but then I forgot to. I'm gonna go to an Office Max or something like that and take a look around. There's gotta be something good I can use.

Usually when you email a store and you don't get a reply, it isn't a good sign. I don't wanna place an order with GR and then be waiting for something that might never come in.

Well to give you guys a little update...

As far as Star Fox 2 goes, I ordered 2 copies of Stunt Race FX (the donor cart every one says to use) and two EPROMs. From what I've read, the Stunt Race cart might have some slow down issues playing Star Fox 2 due to the older Super FX chip. Knowing that, I also ordered a copy of Yoshi's Island (it has a faster Super FX chip) but then I found out that the Yoshi cart doesn't have enough SRAM.

I had the idea though, couldn't I just transplant the RAM from the Stunt Race cart onto the Yoshi cart? Apparently the answer is no because they do not have the same pin count or pin out. That being said, what if I take the faster FX chip from the Yoshi cart and put it on the Stunt Race cart? I guess we'll find out when I do it. The Doom cart has the best of both worlds (the SRAM and faster FX chip) but does not have a battery backup for the high scores. For this reason, a Doom cart will be my backup as I really don't care about the high scores being saved all that much.

edit: Apparently the answer is no all around. The faster FX 2 chip has more pins, I would not be able to put it on the Stunt Race cart. I guess I'll worry about a Doom cart if and when the Stunt Race cart doesn't work out well.

As far as Star Ocean goes, doesn't look like I'll have any ready to sell as soon as I hoped. I realized I have to modify the inside of an American SNES Cart to fit the Japanese game PCB. Kind of annoying, really. I still don't have good labels.

edit: Turns out I wont be able to use regular cases to put Star Ocean in, it just wont work. This means I'd have to buy a game that has the Super FX chip to get a case for Star Ocean. As it were, Stunt Race FX is pretty cheap. But it's the game I need to buy to make Star Fox 2, so you can see why that's pretty annoying.

How many people actually want a copy of Star Ocean? Because I'm not gonna bother going through the trouble of making them if some one isn't definite on buying it. PM me if you're interested in one.

Anyways, I made a second Star Ocean cart today. The case/label (or rather the lack of) is pissing me off because I want to start playing this game but it's probably not a good idea when it's just a PCB sticking out of the SNES. Another minor problem I ran into is the battery. The clips for the stock batteries are spot welded on, so you cant attach them to a new battery save for the tape method (which I'm not a fan of) or of course if you have a spot welder. I have an abundance of old PCs so I removed the battery holder from one of them. They're too tall to fit inside the case, what a shame since I have a lot of them. Radio Shit has a low profile holder on their website and they're only a buck each. This will also make replacing the battery (in another 10 years) much easier.

Looks like you've got your hands full with the SO and SF2 stuff, but you can put me down as a definite buy for Secret of Mana 2/Seiken Densetsu 3 when you get around to it.

I am interested in Star Ocean, too, but not sure if I'm definite. I don't know much about it. I'd really like to help you get this off the ground by supporting it, though.

Awesome. I'll let you know about Mana, you let me know about Ocean.

So some good news, found a good game to use the case for Star Ocean. PGA European Tour, can get them for $5 or less after shipping.

edit: My second copy of Stunt Race FX came in today, the two EPROMs I ordered to make Star Fox 2, and a copy of Live A Live I ordered. I would be making a SF2 cart right now, but it figures today is my one late night at work. Tomorrow I get off nice and early, so you can rest assure that's what I'll be doing.

I also ordered a few copies of PGA European Tour and those low profile battery holders I was talking about.

So let me ask a clarifiying question or two. Let's say I had a bunch of SFC carts on hand that I would love to have english versions of. If you had the original SFC cart for Bahamut Lagoon or Shin Megami Tensei and a translated ROM would it be fairly easy to get the translated ROM on the cart?

Also, something that just occured to me. I know when the Mother 3 translation project got underway they had to do some crazy things when hacking the text because the Mother 3 ROM was at the max size supported by the GBA ISA. All the SNES translations don't have to worry about that, because no ROM got that big. However, I wonder if any of the translations would have bumped a game from one size to another, and what difficulties that might cause for you.
