Playstation one problems

So i have had this playstation since it came out. I got it on release day as a matter of fact and now when i turn it on, it's LED light comes on but i get no picture.The console also admitts a strong burning smell and doesn't spin the disks.any ideas what is wrong?

Sounds like something on the board is fried. Try opening it up and looking for any signs of electrical damage. Depending on what's busted you might be able to repair it fairly easily, or you might need a new PSX.

I don't know much about the insides of consoles, but it does sound like your PS1 is damn near busted. If nothing else suggested here works, then you might have to get a new one.

well it started up just fine after i let it sit and clean the inside however, it is really loud

It's a common problem for launch consoles from 95'-96' to literally melt the disc drive as it's located right above the power supply.
