What is the best way to clean dirty Consoles?
What is the best way to clean dirty Consoles?
Ideally I would like to take the cases off and clean them, but I have no idea what works best. Does simple Palmolive work? Has anyone tried Oxyclean?
Re: What is the best way to clean dirty Consoles?
what i do with most of my systems is disassemble them completely take the case and thoroughly clean them with a clean wet cloth.
sometimes i use q-tip's to clean between the cracks, but if they are too dirty i wash the cases with dish washing soap and then just wait for them to dry completely and assemble them again.
i don't do it but once. i just cover them with somthing to keep the dust out and wipe them every day. every month i clean the system's fans too.
but this is just me i like to keep them very clean. all of them are pretty mint.

A nice clean rag and some 70% By Volume Rubbing Alcohol always does wonders for me. Plus it has the added benefit of sanitizing your consoles as well as cleaning them.

Take it apart, wash it off, towels, LOTS OF Q-TIPS! As long as it doesn't burn through the plastic, you should be good to go.

Thanks Everyone for your helpful tips!

I blow and brush all dust I can off of the console, then a very mild solution of cleaner to remove any other dirt, then finish with these:

Really makes the black consoles look like new.

yeah but it will feel greasy and slippery and then your hand will be slippery and when you get the controller it will slip.xxstatic wrote:I blow and brush all dust I can off of the console, then a very mild solution of cleaner to remove any other dirt, then finish with these:

You know there's a reason they warn you about Armor-All eating through unprotected pleather on the bottle.xxstatic wrote:I blow and brush all dust I can off of the console, then a very mild solution of cleaner to remove any other dirt, then finish with these:

Well that and the feeling you just slathered you console in cooking oil.
