She's a rescued Pit Bull/Boxer mix, who is now 9 years old, and about 80 lbs. Her old owner was a cocaine/crack dealer, so she has an attack command that still looks pretty lethal. She is the most obedient dog too. Ripley gets along with cats/dogs/pretty much everything as long as I keep her on a heal command.
Not the best pic, but here's one of her at the park.
Very cool. It's been like 8 years and I still miss having a dog.
What's stopping you from adopting a dog?
You sound like a great owner, get on it.

I mean a big dog. Not a rat I can keep inside. The problem is usually that I don't have a closed-in backyard. I grew up with this 115lb white lab most of my childhood that was very cool. Spent much of my summers in the basement just hanging out with him, and watching crap TV.

Ah, Hi! I'm Gooseberrysoda, (Or you'll probably get to know me as Alex) and I've really been enjoying reading the articles on this site for a long time. I'm a retro gamer, (the newest system I own is a Gamecube, and that's mostly so I can play Timesplitters: Future Perfect, my favorite game) and I love "Failed" Game systems like the Sega 32X.

I live in Northern Michigan and direct low-budget movies, and Chinese food is the best.

Now that that's out of the way, I'll start posting. :D

Whoa, I don't think I ever posted here. I found this forum a couple times in succession looking for answers and found them. That was enough to get me hooked and I immediately started answering whatever I could of the open topics. I even occasionally have to track back my own posts to answer my friends queries on certain things (yes bad memory - don't blame the drugs) but this is my current nexus of videogameasmotrondom <- My word I claim it!

Well why I posted is this:
If I ever got a dog I think it'd be a Miniature Boxer.
All the personality and drive of the original but less to clean up.
I've only owned 2 dogs. One my parents owned almost killed me when I was 4 (don't remember) one got ran over 4 months into my owning it when I was 7. The rest of my long-term pets have been felines, amphibians, ichthyoids, arachnids or cold-blooded (14-20 in all) also 200 odd insects and water dwelling sea-creatures that I took excelent care of and returned to the wild after they started multiplying beyond what the eco-system in my area could handle (I'm personally responsible for a muskrat infestation). Don't get me wrong, I like dogs, but I am so often away from the house that I cannot own one in my current profession. What I want more than anything is a pet ferret! They are so cool! They are completely chaotic. If there is *anything* they see that looks interesting they destroy it trying to figure it out. Unfortunately until I choose a different profession or buy a destroyable motorhome I can't have what I want...

Hello everyone, I've been reading the articles here for some time but I decided to give up lurking and join. I'm 18 and live in Pennsylvania (near Trenton, New Jersey, to be precise), although I was born in Mississauga, Ontario. Aside from gaming I enjoy reading, watching movies, history, collecting odd things (like things from or related to the former Soviet Union), and so on. My taste in music would probably be considered strange by most people (I mean, what kind of person enjoys listening to both ABBA and Laibach?!); you can check out my last.fm page here if you're so inclined. I can speak German decently and Spanish at a very basic level.

I really only got into gaming with Pokémon Silver on the GBC (although I do remember playing SMB on the NES at a much younger age). I used to play retro games via emulation when I was younger, which translated into a desire to own the real thing. I've been collecting games for a while, but my collection is still rather modest. I have a NES (19 games), SNES (8 games), N64 (5 games), GC (20 games), Xbox 360 (9 games), Wii (14 games), GBC (5 games), GBA (12 games), DS (20 games), and a Genesis (5 games). I also have 1 PS2 game, despite not owning one. I'm always looking to add more classic games to my collection. :)

I do hope that I remember to be active here!

I am a 27 years old, and a towtruck driver by trade. I'm into linux, programing, and gaming (video, and table top.)
Since I was 9 years old, I've always been one system behind the times. my first system was an NES, I got it for christmas the year the snes came out. ever since then I've had a special place in my hart for older hardware.

any way, this seems like a great place, full of reto awesome.

I am sort of new...by a couple days. I have made a few replies in some of the forum topics already, but decided to introduce myself anyhow.

I am 36 years old from Clinton Twp., Michigan, I do 2nd Level Support and Web Design for a Real Estate Software company in Fraser, Michigan.

I am into classic consoles and computers and collect both. I am especially fond of Sega, Nintendo and Commodore.

I am a huge fan of horror and sci-fi movies from the 70s and 80s, and old kung-fu movies. My musical tastes are all over the place. I try to keep an open mind and I can listen to pretty much anything aside from country music. For some reason it makes me cringe.

Hi everybody,

I am a 23 years old student of Computer Science from Frankfurt, Germany.
Long ago I sold my beloved SNES and now I am looking forward to rebuy every single game for the Virtual Console. However, currently I am more into my PS3 games.
Of course, I'll purchase some PSX games in the PSN. Hope, this is enough retro to be welcome in this forum. ;)

Greetings,
Patrick

I may have made a mistake and just dove into selling without introducing myself, but I'm Xavier and I freakin' LOVE this site! The most down to earth people are here and I love it! I'm glad to be a member of racket boy! :D :D :D
