Will you ever have collected enough?
Will you ever have collected enough?
Is there a point where you will finally feel that you have collected enough games?
Personally, I'm running out of space to put things. I have almost every PS2 title I have ever wanted (with only about a dozen out there that I still have interest in). I have a decent collection of carts for NES, SNES, and N64. I don't have any more closet space. The entertainment center is full. I'm starting to wonder... am I done? I've really been enjoying Steam lately for the exact same reason a lot of people don't like it-- there is no physical copy of the game. All it requires is that I have the hard drive space to play it (something else I'm running out of, but at least I can always delete games and reinstall them later.) I'm not sure I need many more hard copies of games though. It seems weird to say that, and I'm sure I'll make exceptions and still find a few places to squeeze things in. I'm pretty satisfied with my collection though and I have hardly beaten any of the games I have purchased in recent years. I wonder if it's time to take a breather and spend less time collecting the games and more time playing them.
Anybody else in the same boat? Do you think you will ever feel like you have enough?
I was once checking out a person's profile on backloggery.com that had an insane amount of games. Somebody left a comment on their page where they had calculated about how many hours that person would have to play for the rest of their life to beat every game they owned-- it would have been a full time job. When is enough, enough?

I myself do not believe you can have too many games, if you run out of space, find more.
Also, Always take time to play a few titles from your collection. I at the moment have 28 NES carts, about 10 SNES games (as long ago I gave about 20 to a cancer patient), and about 30 N64 games, Not to mention few Xbox games and a selection from the DS.
After all, we're all gamers, and this is what we do, so take some time to relax and enjoy what makes you happy.

"If you run out of space, find more" Easier said that done. From what you have listed, if that is your entire collection, I can see why space is not a problem, (no offense intended). I know that compared to a number of people out here my collection is small but it still takes up a lot of room. So now I am basically working on the US Saturn collection as well as picking up the catalog of Working Designs stuff. I also pick up Japanese Saturn games and other RPGs that I find interesting and want to play. I will definitely find the place where I have collected enough.

None taken, But I do however, live in a walk in closet, I've got wires running everywhere and two tv's, I've found space and so can everyone else.

I don't think I'll ever stop collecting games. I so far haven't had a problem with space I always seem to be able to squeeze them in some spot. Then again I only got like 400 something games so space isn't a big issue right now.

Yes. I have enough.

I think I"ve personally reached my limit when it comes to old games. I'm basically out of space (with enough planned out for new games) on all my shelves, and don't really have room to put up new units in my apartment. There's possibly a couple titles I would be interested in down the line, but right now I have too many games to get through as it is.

Ok, I felt i needed to chime in on this topic. I do honestly think that it can become an addiction of sorts. As we have discussed before in a previous thread , if you let it affect your bills or family then STOP SPENDING! I am currently at 900 games total and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. I have plenty of room to store the stuff and of course I will never get to finish every game. But i honestly love the thrill of the hunt and finding that next game to complete me.

I usually get rid of stuff after a few years and I haven't used any games or systems. Ill sell it and let someone else enjoy it because its not doing much for me just sitting there. Although I do miss my turbo duo from time to time.
