"Hardcore" Gamecube Games

Post by slowslow325 »

Could someone quickly compile a list of some "Hardcore" Gamecube games (i.e. Resident Evil, Metroid Prime, Timesplitters). I feel that I should get some more "Hardcore" games in my collection and since the Gamecube is the newest system I have, I'm going to start with that.

EDIT: If you could, could you include the rating (E,T,M) for these games. If you can't, don't worry about it.

When I hear new Gamecube collections, "Eternal Darkness" is a must IMO..... my favorite game on the system. "Battalion Wars", while not hardcore per say, is a great strategy/action hybrid in the same zipcode as "General Chaos" on the Genny. You may want to look into "Killer 7" and "Geist" as well.

Ikaruga
Chaos Field
Beyond Good & Evil
Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes
Fire Emblem
Tales of Symphonia
Eternal Darkness
Cubivore
Pikmin 1 & 2
Resident Evil 0 - 3 & Code V
Baten Kaitos
Baldur's Gate
F-Zero GX
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

I'd highly recommend each and every one of those. The Gamecube has a lot of great titles other than those too, especially if you dont stick to silly "hardcore" games.

Resident Evil 4 is an obvious one. P.N.03 is a game that sometimes has polarizing opinions.

Hardcore is a pretty ambiguous term. Personally I'd call Odama a hardcore game as it's certainly not a mainstream game.

Are you saying hardcore as difficult to complete or hardcore as "mature?"

I ask because certain titles like Cubivore and Odama, are not mature persey, but they are among the hardest of games released last generation.

Sorry for double post...

I think "hardcore" games are silly too. What I'm trying to say is I own the cartoonish "Childish" actually fun games, but kinda want to get into something darker and more sinister (more matureish)
