Saturn images as rar.000, 001, 002, 003

Post by 4ppleseed »

I can't get these things to open without being corrupt. I've tried about 50 different achives of games, I guess whoever originally zipped them up used some now old version of their compression program and for me to open them will have to find their version right?

I've tried the latest versions of Winzip, WinRAR and 7zip. Any recommendations?

Unzip from the .000 file, it it comes out corrupt, just redownload or find your file elsewhere, there is not much else to do, unless you also have an .sfv file

The thing is I have 8 DVDs full of Saturn images about half were burnt to the DVDs non-zipped the other have are this 000,001,002 etc .. surely the other half 50 or so games can't all be corrupt. It must be the way they were zipped before they were burnt on the DVDs?

Damn that sucks...............But!!! All you need to do is download the free program HjSplit, and everything will be cool man. I had a street fighter iso that i was getting pissed about, till i found this out.

shouldnt have to do more than right click open with. WinRAR should do the rest. or try 7zip.

Perhaps not all the parts are present? I've never been a fan of those split zip/rar archives - though usually they work without problems for me. Did you download all of them from usenet?

OH MY GOD

It worked!! I had to rename .000 to .001, .001 to .002 and onwards so it all starts with .001 then HjSplit did the rest and outputted it to one .rar which then opened up just fine.

I can't thank you enough, you've just unlocked 4 or 5 DVDs full of Saturn images for me. Ecstatic! :D

If you double click a .001 file it will ask you what program to open it with. If you pick WinRAR it SHOULD work. That would be easier than using a merger.
