the thing i miss most about japan

I buy my melon soda from the local jap grocer. tho it does cost some moneies.

how about those red bean desserts, cakes and stuff, well, anything with red bean ... that is one of the things I miss from Japan

Those were great! I got some red bean grilled pastries at a temple in Asakusa that were three on a thin stick, They were shaped like a fish, temple and lantern and they were GREAT! :D .......Green bean ice cream not so much :(

also miss the shrimp sandwich at McDonald's in Japan
Not to mention that Japanese McDonald's serve hot and fresh food! Granted the orders usually took a few extra minutes to cook but I thought it was well worth the wait. Difference in between night and day in quality compared to US McDonalds!
