if I can do it, I'll ship it off to ya.

edit: wait, I *might* (thats a big might) have a spare copy of the disc you're looking for. I know I have 3 "Street Fighter Collection" discs, but I cant remember if I have 2 copies of Disc 1 or 2 copies of Disc 2. I'll find out when I get home tonite.
Either one would be greatly appreciated. If you do have an extra copy of the SSF2 disc, I may have something to trade.

As for ripping, I just use Nero and rip the Bin/Cue. If you do that, we could file transfer it through ICQ or some other way. I may have something I could rip for you in turn.

Thanks a million, both of you for looking into this!

Ha, good news. I DID have 2 copies of the disc with SSF2 and SSF2T on it. PM me your address and I'll mail it out for ya as soon as I can, unless of course you're in Canada/Mexico or abroad... then we might need to talk about some shipping charges.

I know this is old, but would you still be willing to upload a copy of the game in BIN/CUE?

I have the Echelon rip of SSF2X but it is garbage because at the character select screen it has the names all messed up for the four at the far right. Like for Vega it says Balrog, Bison says Vega, etc. I have tried downloading and burning different copies of the echelon rip and have had the same thing happen every time. Really surprised to never hear about it elsewhere.
I would like to have that game as I have heard, as you said, that it is the best version. I just havent gotten around to dropping the cash for the import game and Jap Dreamcast.

Were you saying you could rip the Saturn version or the DC version? A perfect copy of either would be greatly appreciated.

This game has given me so much trouble...

:D
Wow... Ok little history lesson is in order. The reason why the names are switched is because Capcom had problems with the localization, namely M.Bison the boxer and his resemblance to Mike Tyson.

Taken from Wiki:
The single player tournament mode also features four CPU-controlled opponents, known as the "Four Devas", whom the player faces after defeating the other main characters. The bosses in the game:

* Balrog (M.Bison in the Japanese version), an American boxer.
* Vega (Balrog in the Japanese version), a Spanish cage fighter who uses a unique style of ninjutsu.
* Sagat, a one-eyed Muay Thai master and the final boss in the original Street Fighter, who was scarred by Ryu in the end of the previous tournament.
* M. Bison (Vega in Japan), a mysterious military commander who uses an evil power known as "Psycho Power".

The American boxer was named M. Bison in Japan (with the "M" being an initial for "Mike"), since he was designed as a pastiche of real-life boxer Mike Tyson. When Street Fighter II was localized for the international market, the names of the bosses were rotated, fearing that the character who originally bore the name "M. Bison" was a legal liability, due to his resemblance Mike Tyson to the point of copyright infringement.
Your copy is not corrupt, it sounds like it works just fine. If you prefer the American version, which the only port to my knowledge that is as good as Super Street Fighter II X is Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, which is for both the XBox 360 and Playstation 3 on their respective online services. The next best port would be Super Street Fighter II Turbo on the Street Fighter Collection 2nd disc for Sega Saturn. You can find this anywhere online these days, just use Google or Yahoo!.

Why not just get the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection on PS2?

It has both Street Fighter III, and Hyper Street Fighter II which takes all the polish of Super Street Fighter II X, and allows you to select between each character's movesets/appearance/fighting style from all previous Street Fighter II games.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

Hyper Street Fighter II does NOT have the same feel as a regular entry in the series. A few changes were made and while yes, it is adequate for casual play, I would not recommend it for a tournament.

Ah, poor baby

The names are not messed up. In Japan, Bison is called Vega, Vega is called Balrog, and Balrog is called Bison. Weird, I know, but that's the way it is. And since SSF2X For Matching Service was a Japan-only release, that's the only way you'll fin it ;)

(And I'm not making it up. You play SF4 with japanese dialogue and you'll be able to hear Seth calling Bison "Vega" when they're talking at the end of the game)
