Half-Price scores...
The Half-Price Books by me is infamous for not carrying many classic games. Mostly due to the high traffic of games that go through the Disc Replay on the other end of the strip, but when HP does get 'em, they are always horribly price (horrible meaning uneducated).
While they still think some sports games for various consoles are worth more than $5, games worthy of heftier price tags go unseen.
Contra III for SNES - $1.98
X-Men - Mutant Apocalypse for SNES- $1.98
Donkey Kong Country for SNES- $1.98
Yoshi's Island for SNES - $1.98
Castlevania Bloodlines Complete - $6
They got me on these Splatterhouse games, as I played $30-something for 2 and 3.
LESSON HERE- KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN AT HALF-PRICE!

Re: Half-Price scores...
Nothing too special from what I've seen. I've visited another one in the Chicagoland area, and they don't seem to get many games- mostly books and movies.
I should also mention that they're great for finding movies. I don't have too many examples of this, and the one I'm about to tell is irrelevant now that it's been released on DVD this October, but they had Night of the Creeps for $1. Good condition sleeve and tape too!

Blah, judging from their store locater, they apparently have a grave dislike of the South. Closest one's in Texas.

Well, can you blame them?

Hm. I was unaware that they sold classic games. That's good, considering that the stores are littered around here...

I was just in the Chicagoland area earlier this week, stayed close to the Bloomingale store and was right by the Palatine one at one point, never even heard of the stores before or would think to look for games at one if I did. Stopped in at a Play N Trade in Naperville though, wasn't too impressed.

The one in Bloomingdale is where I go. Never heard of Play N Trade. Up till about a few months ago there was another great place called Gamers Garage that only sold games Atari-DC, but they recently closed down.the King wrote:I was just in the Chicagoland area earlier this week, stayed close to the Bloomingale store and was right by the Palatine one at one point, never even heard of the stores before or would think to look for games at one if I did. I'm assuming by Palatine, you mean the one in Niles? Unless there's another one in Palatine that I don't know about. Regardless- I've never seen any games at the one in Niles. But then again, I don't recall checking.
The WORST place is the Disc Replay in Downers Grove- all their games are priced like they're the only ones on eBay and everyone wants 'em. The DR in Bloomingdale on the other hand, couldn't careless if they sell their games dirt cheap.
