What Do You Sit On While Gaming?

Post by racketboy »

I just put together a seating guide for gamers:

I thought I would ask you to hear what you use while gaming and/or you are considering upgrading your current setup.

In my office, I have my Dreamcast hooked up to my LCD and also run emulators on occasion, so I use my vintage office chair in there. It's not the most comfortable, but its nice.

In my living room, I have a leather sofa which is nice, but is further back from the TV. But now I also have a Sumo bean bag chair that I am enjoying for a more up-close view.

seating has never been a problem with me... I personally prefer the couch as it is very versatile to sitting and laying down.

What has always bothered me is finding a house that has an adequately designed livingroom to accept a couch, large television and sound system.

For instance my living room right now is like so:

the open gaps are doors, or sliding glass doors.

And you should of seen the living rooms in all my other houses. I was really annoying figuring out how to adequately place everything so the controllers would reach, the speakers in the correct place, and all that good stuff. Very aggravating. It is as if they started designing livingrooms soully with entertainment centers out of mind so you'd be forced to designate a theater room. GRRRR!

Either my bed or my brown easieboy-ish chair. It's a really old chair, I think my parents bought it in '88 as a rocking chair. It's in superb condition and it's extremely comfortable. :D

I just use my PC/Desk chair. Only need to move it a few feet over to the television. It is of those standard black office type ones.

I have an office chair (with the armrest things) for my PC/emu gaming, but in the TV room theres a very nice couch - the only problem is a lot of my joystick cables dont reach to it lol, so for the DC and GC I have extensiion cables. I need to sit as far back as possible so that my speakers are aimed properly at my head :D
