Re: Favourite Console?

Post by SpaceBooger »

I have more games for my PS1&2 (modded) but I have to say that my DC gets the most play and is my favorite for the following reasons:
  • 1. VGA adapter - Because of this item from Racket I am able to hook it up to my plasma HDTV and still have the Wii, Satellite, and DVD player connected.

    2. TuxtheWise's Dreamcast Resurrection Project - I am playing all the games I had before again and they are faster!

    3. Emulation - With the DC connected to the last input available on my main TV I can play Genesis fighting games on it too.

My reasoning is that with the console able to play the game libraries of the Gamecube, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and Gameboy Advance all combined -- you have a gigantic and fantastic library of games being rocked on one tiny cube.

Though admittedly, by that reasoning I guess if I had a Wii with VC I'd like that more in a way. But VC (like emulators) are less fun to "COLLECT" games for than actual carts/discs.
Dude, OP meant to ask what's your favorite console for fighters. Not something that Game Boy iterations are known to have been strong at.

Oh. I didnt even read the first post, just the title. For fighters I'd say SNES.

Oh, I was about to say Mega Drive, but then I re-read your post so...

2d fighting games? Saturn. No comparison.

3d fighting games? Dreamcast.
(Well, also Xbox 360 has a slightly improved Virtua Fighter 5... ;))

Saturn first for the sheer amount of 2D and early 3D fighters.

Dreamcast second for all the 3D fighters (Project Justice!) coupled with the great although smaller selection of 2D fighters.
My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS
