Am I the only one who hates new FPS's?

FPS are one genre where I dont think the older games aged very well. I play some Doom but Id much rather play CoD WaW.

If anybody's interested and wants to play a game that's closer what what FPS used to be like, there's a new Painkiller on the way.

Hate is a strong word, but I'm definatly bored by them. The genre is over saturated you've got to look but there is some really good stuff, Half-Life (obvi) Bioshock and the first Fear game are great examples of the genre working well.

I'm a bit of a Clive Barker fan and have to say Jericho was awful, looked nice but always felt it was missing something and that can be said for 99% of FPS games nowadays

I only play the new ones for single player, I just get so confused in multiplayer. I end up running around in circles, while 20 other people yell at me

. Same with old FPS games, I didn't even know Doom had multiplayer until a few days ago!

Doom and W3D are probably the only 2 I even play.

Yea, I'm not crazy about new FPS's either but with JT I loved Bioshock and Team Fortress also Portal and Half Life so I wouldn't say I hate them cause there are alot I like. I recommend Painkiller: Hell Wars on the OG xbox, its another good one.

HL2 was dull besides the story

Bioshock = System Shock 2

Call of Duty 4 was just not my thing

Call of Duty 5 i could care less about world war 2 now

F.E.A.R Doom 3 in different packaging and ZOMG slow motion

Doom 3, Crysis, and Quake 4 are the newest FPS's I got any real enjoyment out of. Mainly cause Doom 3 and Quake 4 are just more of the same w/ the ability to look up or down (even though they still move way to slow in comparison to the old ones) and while Crysis was probably the least enjoyed at least it gives chalange on the hardest difficulty while making you feel like a bad ass with your awesome suit.
