Garou: MArk Of The Wolves
Re: Garou: MArk Of The Wolves
I love it. It's right up there with Third Strike. I was lucky to score the Dreamcast version on clearance back in the day

I'm getting KOFXII because it's pretty, but truth be told I'm actually boycotting all SNK all-star type games that do not have Freeman in it.
Damn it, why can't we have more Freeman!?! I get why there's Rock Howard - that's a no brainer. I also understand Gato... but Tizoc!? Come on!!! Yeah he's slightly Yamazaki, but Freeman is still one of my favorites.

Love the game, have to look up the PS2 version.

KOFXII does have Freeman in it. Here's a picture of him. http://creativeuncut.com/gallery-09/kof ... agami.htmlNotBlaine wrote: Damn it, why can't we have more Freeman!?!
Yeah, I'm afraid I also much, MUCH prefer the Terry Bogard of Garou. His original outfit has always reminded me of a Domino's Pizza Delivery Boy. (Which I used to be, and it doesn't exactly bring back pleasant memories.) His Garou outfit, however, with the Bomber Jacket, is just bad-ass. I actually cosplayed as him - and I am not at all the type of person who does cosplay.

Re: Garou: MArk Of The Wolves

Its probably my top favorite fighting game
Re: Garou: MArk Of The Wolves
Sorry but no Tizoc and no Mai Shiranui are my 2 reasons why I'm considering NOT buying KOF XII. The mexican is the only "huge-tough guy" I've ever liked in a fighting game.NotBlaine wrote:I get why there's Rock Howard - that's a no brainer. I also understand Gato... but Tizoc!? Come on!!!

Gah, I always hate when I hear people say they aren't buying a game simply because a character they like isn't going to be in it.synapse wrote: Sorry but no Tizoc and no Mai Shiranui are my 2 reasons why I'm considering NOT buying KOF XII. Here's some food for thought - NONE of my favorite KOF characters are going to be in it. No K', Kula, Maxima, Oswald, Momoko, Malin, May Lee, Blue Mary, King, Yuri, Yamazaki, Billy, Kasumi, Duck King, Geese, Hotaru - and yet I'll still be getting this game. It's KOF, man; I'll find someone I can get used to.
Re: Garou: MArk Of The Wolves
Uhm... ok... please forgive me?
So, I have to buy it just because I'm a fan? Don't think so... Games are something you have to enjoy. I'll know what I enjoy or not and what I feel like buying or not, don't you think?
What I mean is, you're buying it anyway because you're sure you'll like it, and I think that's great (seriously). But I'm pretty bad at fighting games and I'd rather play Marvel vs. Capcom 2 with Dhalsim than Street Fighter 3 where he's not available. So what if there's no characters I like in a game? I usually play it a couple times with my little brother (who actually is quite good) and that's all. I won't spend my money on something I know I won't really enjoy.
(btw no Oswald either is another flaw in my humble opinion
)

Re: Garou: MArk Of The Wolves
As much as I'd like any of my favorite characters to be in KOFXII, that doesn't really matter. The most important aspect of a fighting game is the fighting. To dismiss any fighter (ESPECIALLY Street Fighter III) just because it doesn't have a fighter that you favor shows that you either lack the willingness to adapt, or the ability.
You couldn't get much more fan-servicy that Marvel vs Capcom 2 - but the fighting was seriously lacking. As such, I much prefer MvC1, despite its lack of many characters I love.
As much as I love many of the absent KOF characters, to refuse to buy KOFXII just because of their absence is basically saying "I don't want change. I can't handle change. Please give me what I've played since the beginning, over and over again."
Just for the record, SF3's dropping of many of the classic characters was one of the best things it did. How anyone can prefer Zangief, Balrog, Dhalsim, Fei Long, T. Hawk and Deejay over Alex, Dudley, Elena, Makoto, Yun and Ibuki is just BEYOND ME. I can't even begin to understand it.
Edit: Oh yeah, if you are completely dead-set on Mai Shiranui, she'll be in the next Maximum Impact. I'm sure that'll be a fun experience.
