GBA vs GBA SP

Post by noiseredux »

If you were in the market for a GBA, would you get the original or the SP? And why?

Not to mention the SP lights up, which is a tremendous improvement on visuals. It was a pain having to find a strong, direct light source every time I wanted to play my Advance.

How are the buttons on the SP? They don't quite look to me like they have the same SNES-Controller-feel of the original GBA?

Yeah, that's mostly due to the change in shape of the SP. It actually feels more like the gameboy color.

Plus SP has a rechargeable battery. It's really a no-brainer

Absolutely. My GBA ate a landfill's worth of Double A's in its time.

I didnt realize the GBA used AA's. So screw that. Think I'll go for the SP. The Micro seems a bit too small for my hands.

While the backlight on the screen was superior to the SP, this console is getting rare and expensive. My guess is that not a lot were made because of its release being so close to the DS.
