What Operating System Do You Use?

I'm using XP Pro and don't plan on upgrading my hardware just to run Vista at a tolerable speed.
I'd love to give OSX a whirl, but I don't want to buy new hardware (even though it looks tasty)

Using OS 10.4 Tiger now, but looking forward to upgrading to 10.5 Leopard in a few months (I assume... damn Apple being so secretive). I'll just say that I am a mac fan, not because of the overpriced hardware, but because the OS is the nicest I've ever used, and this is coming from a "Power User" and "Developer", as well as using my mac for serving stuff.

I run XP on all my PCs that are hooked up right now. I have like 25 older ones in storage that run 95, 98, NT, and 2k mostly (they are for sale...feel free to ask!) I also have a bunch of Virtual Machines installed on my main PC right now in case I need DOS/Win 9x compadibility for some reason.

I'm planning on installing Vista on a seperate partition once my school's IT department staff get off their lazy bums and post the Vista image up. I'm rather annoyed considering it has been out to academic alliance members for a few months. I may upgrade to a full 2GB of RAM (I have 1.5GB now) as I hear Vista is a beast with memory.

At the moment I primarily use Ubuntu Linux on 2 PCs and Windows XP MediaCenter 2005 on another. I used to run OSX on my ibook, but that OS really drove me MAD. I really do not like it, not at all. I know my Linux/Unix commands, I know my CommandPrompt commands... I don't feel like learning some of the quirks of Macs commands (though some whate similar to Unix). That and the whole GUI set up it has was really intrusive IMO. I really don't like the quick launch bar at the bottom (it reminds me of Windows quicklaunch which I also hate) and the control bar across the top always changing depending the program your on... I don't know... give me my windows tool bar and I'm fine.

That's why I love Gnome so much... it feels like Windows, has the ease of OSX, but is customizeable like Linux should be. I'm at home in Gnome. It's like a nice happy medium of all three!

Just XPSP2, and it's probably going to be that way for many more years.

I only use the quicklaunch to place an Explorer button near the bottom right, so I can jump to Documents with a click and have the explorer sidebar ready to go. I then place a desktop pull-up button on the bottom left, to access desktop shortcuts when I dont want to minimize all my stuff.

Mac OSX is my main computer. But when I use something like Record Vinyl and burn it to a CD, I use a Windows XP (6 years old and runs like sh-t)
