Anyone else think this guy is crazy?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Videogames make people violent.
Hahahaha.
Just so nobody alerts the authorities...I wouldn't actually do it...I definitely would cry the day I see a Sandbox mario game, though.
you beat me to the video games make you violent thought.

I don't know man- a sandbox mario RPG maybe? Like a paper mario, but not paper because that is fucking retarded. Think oblivion but a mushroom kingdom. Fuck dude- the whole appeal of that new Simpsons game that got made was the fact you could just causually walk around Springfield. Tell a kid to draw springfield, and they can. Tire fire, simpsons house with the treefort, school, moe's, nuke power plant etc. Tell a kid to draw the mushroom kingdom and it is kinda a struggle. The next step for mario in my opinion is a more solid livable world rather than a place you jump through with some platforms.

fuck dude- mario is 27 now and has never lived in a house. Mario is homeless street urchin with a taller weirder brother that wants to play with your kids. (don't let him)

it was never made for the wii in mind. It was just devloped a little too late on the gamecube so they made 2 versions of it. Rather than jokingly saying "the waggle controls are an afterthought" they are actually an afterthought.

Technically that was an apartment in the movie. Though I believe it was a house in their Super Show.

Hehe, I know this is a retro site and a lot of us love the old games and many of us prefer them, but I still laugh when someone says that a certain company needs to ditch 3D games and go back to good old 2D side scrolling platformers, blah blah. Really? Sure a good deal of us on this site and a small handful of people around the world would buy these systems/games and be thrilled, but that would be the last system that company would release before declaring bankruptcy. Most people today want a constant evolution when it comes to systems/games. Especially the youngins. I had no regrets when I bought by NES that was so much more capable of amazing me than the Atari 2600. Imagine if those systems never evolved. I admit, with no shame, that I enjoyed seeing Hyrule in 3D, seeing what it was like to really become a part of the landscape and see people and races as more than just pixelated blobs on the screen - phew! I also love how far in-game music has come and think it adds much more to the gaming experience. The chance to take it a step further and actually wield a wiimote like a sword or gun made me excited for the chance to not just control the character, but become the character.

My main gripe is that I am still yearning for the chance to do this in an ORIGINAL game. I beat twilight princess and I have no interest in playing through it again. I also have no interest in anymore sports games. I found them fun at first too, but after playing through the golf on wiisports, I could care less about the Tiger Woods version - it may play better, but it's still golf. I am still surprised at the number of golf, tennis, baseball, hockey games that get released for systems. At least games like Mario and Zelda offer somewhat new plots and scenery (I know there are plenty of people who disagree), but new sports games only offer updated gameplay. I still play NHL 2006 over and over and I have no need for anything more recent.

What the hell were we talking back?

Castlevania symphony of the night is around 400MB in size. Can you imagine a castlevania sidescroller on a new system 8x the size of SOTN? 8x the castle, 8x the items. 8x the bad guys.

yes- i would like some games to go back to 2d on the console. Really.

I wouldn't want all one way or the other. Both are fun. I like options.

Paper mario pretty much was an interactive world where Mario can go about where ever he pleases...what makes that retarded? It seems to be what you want.
Why not just play oblivion then? All you'd really be doing is changing the games visuals.

"Mario goes grocery shopping"?

Yes. So much more can happen with 2D games now-a-days. The visuals can still be as impressive as a 3D game, look at the new King of Fighters game coming out. Side scrolling gameplay offers so many things that can't be done in a 3D free roam environment.

and the new sports games offer updated rosters, and improved mechanics. Just as Mario 64 is the same as Mario Galaxy, but with updated visuals, and improved mechanics.
