snk arcade classics

Post by puke_face »

i just bought this game about a week ago for the wii. all i can say is: shock troopers is one of my new favorite shumps. that game completely changed my outlook on neo geo all together. i have became apart of the neo-nazism that surrounds me, haha.

i was looking into that..... i think i'll just stick with emulation, because the avs console i found was a little over $400. seems a bit rich for my blood. but i can see how the arcade joystick and buttons could help on a game like that, i played for about 30min, and my hands were really cramped from the wii-mote. i also really liked the soundtrack to shock troopers. that is the only game on the disk that i have played so far, i'm pumped to find out what the rest are like.

My aes ran me 300$ SHIPPED, from japan. Original box, all paper work, all plastic bags, memory card, great condition, and ems. The first one was a gift so she wont tell me what that one cost. Point is for one thats almost perfect you can get for less than 400$ shipped...just look around ;)

For 400$ you should be able to find a fully modded one or an mvs console. I just prefer original hardware.
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

Even then, it seems a bit high for an older system, unless it was an arcade cabinet, which is where i'm a little confused. the aes is the console itself, and the mvs is the arcade version? is that right?

well, the mvs is the board that would be IN an arcade cab. But you can have that board made into a console, 1 slot,2 slot, 3 slot, I am not sure how high though go, most I know of is a 4 slot which alot of people say are not nearly as reliable as the 1 and 2 slots.

The big thing about the AES carts is the rare factor on some of them, and the beautiful art on the boxs. Honestly...I love just looking at the cases lmao.

If you have room for a arcade cab....honestly, buy one. Price and value is there. If you want something to take to a friends house....you are not going to throw a cab in your car...but an mvs board or aes*the home console*, you can. Also...if you get a supergun, you can play all kinds of arcade boards, INCLUDING the mvs board, you would just need the mvs carts. Any questions feel free to ask any of the neo guys here or the neo forums :)

Edit: Also, just my opinion, dont waste your time with a neo geo cd...loading times vs the mvs/aes carts is...just....yeah.,,sad

Just hunt around neo-geo for a deal on a console mvs, they pop up on ebay time to time for about 500+. I have seen them as low as 250 on neo.
