So I finally bought an LCD TV....

Post by miked »

After debating for a year or two I ended up with this one: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... b=features

The 360 and PC look amazing through HDMI, The Dreamcast is great with VGA, The cube is pretty good with S-video and my cable looks like shit. Pretty much what I expected lol. Great black levels and whites as well. No LCD bleed either. Great picture overall and amazing price.

So the real question is how do you guys feel about the dynamic contrast ratio feature? I hate it on my LCD computer monitor, but I kinda like it on the TV. It kinda annoys me when I see the contrast suddenly change, especially when just browsing through the Xbox menus. Most everything looks better with it on.

Wow that's the first decent deal I've seen at Radioshack.

Radioshack! We're like Best Buy only with less selection and annoying sales people who want to sell you a cellphone plan! Oh and we have a shitload of different types of wire. Wire is hip right?

Don't worry Modman I still have my 27" HD CRT. The N64 has a proper home and I think the cube will join it shortly.

I am also shocked to see such a great deal at the shack though. I once walked in to buy a new sodering iron and they attempted to sell me a cell phone. How the fuck are these 2 things even linked together?

Good to see you've kept the CRT, It's the only display tech I'll own until it's impossible to maintain/repair due to lack of parts, qualified technicians etc..

Cell phones are the scum of the electronics world, I've never owned one myself (I'm 17) and don't see the value in one now that all every idiot does is text. I mean come on it's a freaking phone get it? Talk not text?

CRT all the way, I wish I can find an HD one for a decent price.

I am not sure if I like 4:3 better than 16:9 .

LCD is cool, but CRTs have better picture I think and you
do not have to worry about stuff like contrast and black levels.
I thought technology improve not downgrade.

Congrats on the new TV, and that's Radio Shit for ya. From what I heard, they only make a small commission on most sales but they make a bigger one on cell phone sales.
