What should I get first?
What should I get first?
A Saturn or a Nintendo 64?
Re: What should I get first?
Depends, do you prefer fighters or platformers? RPGs or FPSs? 2D or 3D?

Platformers, FPS, and 3D. So yeah, I should probably get a 64...Ack wrote:Depends, do you prefer fighters or platformers? RPGs or FPSs? 2D or 3D?

Also, there's the question of how much disposable income you have. Or whether you have inhibitions about modding and burning video games (Basically, "Are you willing to get Panzer Dragoon Saga running on your Saturn?").
And then there's the question of what sort of games you enjoy most, and which developers you find yourself favoring more often: Sega/Capcom or Nintendo/Rare.

Oh, alright. Well, that's what the majority of the N64's classic games are, plus you get Ocarina of Time, Starfox 64, Super Smash Bros., Mario Party, Wave Race 64, and Pilotwings 64 at your disposal.newt42 wrote:Platformers, FPS, and 3D. Re: What should I get first?
based on what you've said you like a 64 will be more fun and far less expensive. However I hear PDS could go up in value in the future and its a brilliant game
Re: What should I get first?
The N64 will definitely be the cheaper option if that makes a difference. You should be able pick up either system for under $20 (maybe a bit more for a mint condition Saturn). However, you can easily track down a bunch of the N64's best games (Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, Wave Race 64, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, Zelda: OoT/Majora's Mask, etc.) for less than a single elusive Saturn game. I adore both consoles but frankly, I think the N64 is a much better value for your money.
And yeah, if you prefer those genres, the N64 is a no-brainer anyway. I'd definitely recommend...
3D Platformers: Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie (probably the two best games the genre has ever seen), Space Station Silicon Valley, Banjo-Tooie, and Rayman 2
FPSes: Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, The World is Not Enough, and the first two Turok games

Don't forget about Conkers Bad Fur Day, with that you probably have three of the best of the genre.Briomoto wrote:The N64 will definitely be the cheaper option if that makes a difference. Rayman 2 was better on the PSX, IMO.Briomoto wrote: Rayman 2

But best on the Dreamcast, IMO. I have both though because the N64 version came in a nifty green cartridge.GSZX1337 wrote:Rayman 2 was better on the PSX, IMO.Briomoto wrote: Rayman 2
