I totally agree. Sony is still under the delusion that the PSP is winning over the DS. They're both fantastic systems, but seriously, Sony, stop toying with us and give us a PSP2!superlarz wrote:Seems like they blew the shell off of a new Metal Gear Solid game going to be announced at E3 too. Overall this is stupid. They need to push out new hardware with new capabilities, not just something with downloadable only content. Where are second shoulder buttons on each side, second analogue stick, or touch screen? Hope Sony has something better up their sleeve at E3.. I am sure Nintendo and MS will.

to be fair, the original psp design is pretty uncomfortable too.AwesomeMonstar wrote:anyone find the control placement awkward? That thing looks terribly uncomfortable to me.
Also yeah, i think everyone on the site hates the idea of no physical media.
I agree that the PSP3k seems to be a downgrade, but the 2K is leaps and bounds better than the original fat PSP. What do you think is worse about it? For me, the video out alone is worth the bump, but the feel of the unit, the screen, the battery life - everything that counts just seems much better on the second iteration. I think the only reason they made the 3k was to fix the piracy issue, and I agree that the new one is pretty much trying to do the same. Can't believe there is no second analogue nub, either!Niode wrote:
I just don't get the point in it at all. I didn't see the point in the PSP2k or the PSP3k either, the screen and UMD drive is worse (interlaced screen instead of progressive and manual drive instead of mechanical) on the PSP3k so it's not even an upgrade, you are losing quality and they are charging more for it. I just don't get the point at all.
I think we'll agree to disagree. I prefer the ds to the psp, but as far as emulation goes, psp does win out. It just has more horsepower.dsheinem wrote:I too have CFW on my PSP2k, and I use it to test drive games. I've purchased a half dozen PSP games, but it is my go to unit for retro gaming.. I play it a few times a week for both PSP titles and retro ROMs. By contrast, I play with my DS Lite (with flash cart) maybe once-twice a month at most. I have owned about 10 different handheld systems at one point or another, and a PSP with CFW is far and away the best. I'd even argue that the PSP library is on par with the best portable libraries out there.
