Some Forum Enhancements: Spam Prevention/Links

Post by racketboy »

Just added some slight enhancements to the forum:
- Added some changes to the registration process that should really cut down on spambots
- Made it so all URLs/Links will be underlined, making them easier to spot

Let me know if you run into any issues!

Personally, I like that the links will be underlined now. Makes things a little bit easier. Although I don't see how it stops spam and bots...

It's a two part update. Part one is underlines. Part to is changing the registration form, which most of us don't check out, as we're already registered.

You should also clear out all the 0 post accounts to make sure no spambots are still in. You could probably mass email them ahead of time with a friendly message, explaining that they need to reregister.

That's a good idea. There are quite a few 0 post accounts.

Actually, I do that on a semi-regular basis.
But I'm not much for the mass-email thing -- people get pretty touchy about that.

I'm not so sure I like all of the underlining. It works in the posts, but is too much on the rest of the page.

Good to see (hopefully) the spam ending. Some days were out of hand. Keep up the good work!
