If you think the slowdown on Odette is bad (I take it that's what you meant by Ice Queen) then you haven't seen the slowdown for Velvet's penultimate boss. I've heard the PAL release fixed some of the slowdown issues, but I can't verify.
Odin Sphere was a weird game for me. I really enjoyed the game, but it also is the only game to get me to spend large amounts of time just screaming obscenities and nearly throwing my controller. At times it really feels like you have to wrestle with the controls (Oswald's fourth hit, I'm looking at you), and the stun resistence of the enemies can be a bit rediculous at times. But aside from that it was really great. The graphics were obviously gorgeous and I really enjoyed the story. And Velvet is a hottie.
That's why I'm so excited by Muramasa. It looks like they've learned from the shortcomings of their previous games to give us a beautiful polished side scrolling action game.
Just picked up Odin Sphere....

Really? I've been doing this for 20+ years.MrPopo wrote:the only game to get me to spend large amounts of time just screaming obscenities and nearly throwing my controller.

I try to game more calmly. If something starts getting frustrating I'll switch to something else and come back later. Most of the time it helps, and when I come back I'll blow through whatever was blocking me in an attempt or two.

Odin Sphere is amazing, but the slowdown associated with bosses, like when fighting in Titania and it rains suits of armour, is ridiculous. I really hope they fix it with Muramasa.
