A Call For Help

Post by RCBH928 »

I made this post on bitgamer, but no one gave me any right response. So I chose to ask the gurus on here. Maybe they can:

"Hello
Please don't flame me for asking simple questions...

I downloaded Spartan Total Warrior fro Incomplete S torrent for the Gamecube.

It was done, I ran the files on Unrarx, I got a sc-stw.iso file which size is 1.36 GB.

I looked in the forums and every where else they say that Wii/GCN is just simple burn ISO.
So I did it using DIsk Utility(using mac),
It burned and it was done but it didn't work on my Softmodded Wii...

So I chose Toast and tried to burn it and it gave me first this Error:
"Toast could not detect format of "sc-stw.iso". Click continue if you are certain this is a valid disk image".

So I did. When I hit the big red button to burn it , this message was shown
"CD_ROM XA or Audio tracks can not be written to DVD"

I am using imation DVDs , they are purplish on the the bottom.
Is the coloro f the CD any problem? If so, which brand is clear like a regular DVD?"

Any one got any idea?

What softmod/hardmod method are you using?

Personally, I've used ImgBurn (Free) to burn GC isos. I have no clue about Mac burning programs. I would suggest figuring out a way to boot into Windows on your Mac and using ImgBurn. It just works.

Since you're on a Wii, not all GC games will work if you're using a softmod. There's a compatibility list you can use Google to find.

There are a bunch of GC/Wii enthusiasts on thepurplecube.org that can give you advice since I don't have a lot of experience with the Wii but very competent with the Cube.

Or you can buy the game for $5.00. A lot less headaches that way.

for real. I understand burning crazy expensive games like panzer dragoon saga, but the time you are spending to problem solve and burn a game that costs only a couple bucks is silly.

I have a mac- i burn with a pc. It is so crazy easy. I've never burned with a mac easily. Or at all.

I can see why he wants to burn the game. There aren't that many copies for sale on Ebay and it appears that the minimum price is at least $20.

Ebay is overpriced, and I'm sure Gamestop has a few used copies laying around for a lot less than ebay.

I am using softmii

I am not in America...
I buy off amazon, and the cheapest is $9 with "Acceptable" as the condition. Then there is extra $4 for shipping, then there is actually extra $10+ for shipping it all the way to my country.
So I will have to pay $23 for that game which is used and considered by the seller in the status of "Acceptable".
Sure, feel sorry for me.

I rather keep that kind of money for brand new Bioshock, Assassin Creed, Bully, Oblivion, and other games.

I got a windows system, I will try to burn it , but what put me down is Toast saying that its not an image file and then saying it can rip Audio or some thing of that sort.

Feel worse for me , I only have 12 GB bandwidth from ISP, so that game just took a whole 1GB out of it. So re-downloading it will suck, not to mention I have to keep a ratio on Bitgamer and i think its bad to waste it twice on the same game just to check if I got it downloaded wrong the first time.

On the purple cube site that I mentioned earlier, there's this thread: http://thepurplecube.org/forums/index.p ... 826.0.html

There was a person successful with this game on a Wii using GC Backup Launcher 0.2

Is that what you're using?

None of my wii ISOs would burn until I started using Imgburn. I have a hardware modded wii though so it might be different for you.

Out of curiosity, what country are you from? Brazil?
